I started my new class last week. in every class we have to do a project... My class is AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. so my project is going to be decribing the fuctions of both manual and automadic trans. I wanna describe power upgrades of both and the pros and cons ... if any one has any input on this subject please feel free to give some inputs and advice... thank you for your time and help.. maybe with your help i can get an A

First off.... easiest and cheapest mod.
-Transmission oil cooler. Lowers temp of the oil. not much to explain.
www.bmracing.com
www.trdusa.com (they don't make one for the tc but i think it can be fitted.)
hayden (don't know the website off the top of my head.)
Next, is Valve body work. This controls the many aspects of how the tranny shifts. For instance, some domestics use a manual tranny valve body and slap it on a auto tranny. Result = something similar to a sequential. But that's not what we're aiming for. You can NOT do this on an import. (not that I know of at least.)
We're aiming for making the valve body stronger.
-ZPI (don't know the website. If someone can fill me in that'd be great)
-IPT
-Boost Logic (They specialize in supras)
Additional parts....use the same website, Level ten performance, as listed above.
-PTS kit
-Level ten hydrosystem
-torque converter
-Super pump

Re: Auto trans V.S. manual trans
manuals are pretty basic. shorter gears, lighter flywheel, performance clutches, LSD.
pros- faster shifter able to hold more power put through it.
cons- easier to break, can be really hard to street drive.
