why would you want to install a short shifter in your s2000? are the throws not short enough for you?

I believe there is one short shifter made for the s2000. I don't remember the name of the manufacturer though. The problem with it is that its made for a right hand drive car. So basically it shifts the entire pattern to the right some, thus increasing your chances of mis-shifting on a 6 -> 4 shift.

There has been some interest in machining a new piece to recenter the patter with the kit, but as far as I know, no one has done it yet.

correct me if i'm wrong, but c's, i think makes a short shifter for s2k's...but, you're running into the same problem as you mentioned with the 6-4 shift... it's angled the wrong way. I'm yet to hear of anyone mfg a USDM s2k short shifter. Actually, we talked about this in an earlier thread.. and many s2ki guys go another route if they want to shorten the shifts: bypass the short shifter and go with a voodoo ****.

lol.. short shifter on a s2k.. what was your last car?? was it manual?? you need to hop in like a maxima or something and feel what a regular throw feels like... then you may find that its already quite short enough.. the throws are perfectly short, and its almost impossible to misshift.. why mess with it.. if it aint broke dont fix it..

If you want shorter, don't rip out the stock shifter, but instead, pick up a countersunk shift ****. Trust me.

i have the short shifter in my car....
its from distinto bellezza manufactured by c's...
the price is rather high ( around 385.00)
i have no problem with 6-4 downshift nor any shift... it actually feels more precise that stock...

Be careful shortening the throws. Drive it for a few months first. I oftentimes find myself grinding second gear before I even get the clutch fully depressed.

Speaking of which, anyone know an easy way to shorten the clutch travel?
