i am a nOOb but please help me with these weird questions i have!??!?!?!?!!?!
hey guys, i am a COMPLETE CAR NEWB, i am getting in the import scene, yes i know this is the wrong forum but the "integra" forum keeps saying error whenever i try to make a "new topic" like i am right now here, anyways, i go with my friends street racing every weekend, and see MANY ricers, i want an integra, so thats what im going to get... i see exhausts on these cars, and other peoples ****, and they are LOUD, i want something louder thougn, i cant seem to find an exhaust system to MY standards...they are:
DEEEEEEPPPP throat...
VERY VERRRRYYYY loud through out the ENTIRE rpm range...
huge look, like as in round, 4 inch?
what will suit my needs? and also im looking for carbon fiber...
as my question goes, whenever i buy the exhaust, do i need to give it to a shop to weld it on? or how does it work? screws? nuts? bolts? to hook it up to the pipes? im CONFUSED, dont get me wrong at all, i know ALOT, and i mean ALOT about cars, i just dont know about how to install them...
i am in the "radio control" scene for a long time now racing remote controls cars that run off nitrous and alcholol, 2 stroke single pistoned powerplants, so basically, i know how cars work...
all need to know is the exhaust question HELP!!!!!!!
please dont flame me...
i know u are
btw: im 16 years old, LOL
well like r/c cars where there are tuned pipes of all shapes and colors real cars have the same thing. like the r/c ones they are held with a coupling at one end and a wire on the other. kinda the same with cars. okay so heres the thing you just gotta research and experiment. most places will install for you or you can bring to a muffler shop and they can take care of it for you to install. the noise thing well thats all up to you. you can ask around (people you hang around with) and get some opinions on what they think is good for you
Simple! Find the biggest, meanest, baddest looking 8" exhaust tip in Pepboys, bolt it on to your muffler. Then, here is the important part ---> Take off the b-pipe and cat to run open-header. I can guaranteed that you will **** your pants whenver VTEC kicks in y0!
lol
thanks alot guys for the reply, i thought this was gonna turn in to a pimp slap war
anyways, seriously, what u think i can run in a teg that will give a THROATY deep sound to it, but i want it loud, i need an exhaust that u can hear 3 o4 eve 5 blocks down, but nothin illegal, LOL
guys, link me to somethin...
something bad *** and loud, but perfect sounding
u get what i mean?
btw:
dont link me to some junk

You're buying the wrong car. Integras can't sound deep AND loud. You get one or the other. Get a Mustang or whatever else with a V8.

You need a super turbo muffler!!!
Just bolting this on will give you an increase of over 140hp at the wheels + or - 3 hp and torque of around 800ftpounds.

You guys are ruthless...
But, I like it!
Anyway, EYE CANDY RACER you ARE in the wrong forum and you will not get too much help with your broad questions especially if you don't even have a car yet and or have any type of tangible goals besides the sound of your future exhaust.
Several ways to get flamed here are;
1) to post as you did, with really no rhyme or reason but, to ask basic questions that could have been more easily answered by using the SEARCH function or by posting in the correct forum.
&
2) posting juvenile crap as follows with multiple spelling and gramatical errors; <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by EYE CANDY RACER »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">"i cant seem to find an exhaust system to MY standards... they are: DEEEEEEPPPP throat... 3) and then asking NOT to get flamed for the previous junk.
Do yourself a favor and Search as already mentioned. Search the WEB, This site, Other sites. Go hang out in Garages, or with people that are decent mechanics that will take some time to help you learn. Because although online is a great place to learn and read about stuff, NOTHING beats getting out into the Real World and actually seeing and touching the parts that you speak of and want to learn about, And NOTHING beats getting all dirty and greasy while working on and fixing stuff.
Decide on what car you want first, don't come and post your dreams because that wastes all of our time. Get a Plan and a Budget, read up and read some more. Get a Helm's manual for your specific Honda or Acura BEFORE you plan to mod anything.
Good luck,
I remember 16, and hindsight is Always 20/20.

Good points Grey...especially the ones about getting greasy, doing your research, getting the Helm's manual, and developing a plan. Research and planning may take alot of time, but very much worth the effort.
And EYE CANDY: there is more to an exhaust system (or any aftermarket part for that matter) than sound and looks. Go for something that'll net good power gains. If it looks good too, then great!

you mentioned you want something VERY loud and DEEP. well, im sure that is illegal wherever you go so if you want VERY LOUD and DEEP prepare to be stopped depending on where you are at.
but i don't know the noise ordinances so don't question me on what is right and wrong.

I am deeeeeeply and loudly disappointed with you people. Like the loudest kind with 4" headache kind of disappointed. Eye candy...You are getting off so easy with a post like that.
But, I`d suggest, like the others are, buying a car first. If you go buy the muffler first you may run into problems finding the car to put it on. I bought a car and then the muffler and THEN I put a microphone in the muffler and hooked it up to my car stereo that has 6 10" speakers in the trunk. My car runs solid 13`s all day every day because of the particular sound vibrations caused by my muffler octaves and the whole neighborhood knows it. So look for a muffler like that first and then get a car to put it on. Seriously, if you know how to weld you put anything on any car.

No one here is impressed by this crap. Go auto-x or track driving and stop being a retard. The fast and the furious scene is so f*cking stupid and is a large reason why most people don't like imports. Read the posts in this forum for a while and then re-think your questions. While you're at it, grow up before you kill somebody. And if you want a loud exhaust, get one of the $30 pieces of junk APC sells and join the millions of other "racers" who don't have a clue.

I cant believe EYE CANDY is getting off this easy. One thing I wouldn't do is tell him lies because he might leave here more confused than before. One thing I would recommend is to search and read on here to get all the answers to your questions. Observe the site and the scene for a while. I would also recommend to pick up some good magazines with some tech articles. I am not a big fan of any right now but they sometimes have good tech tips.
For a first car for a 16 year old I would recommend something like a crx which is a little older and needs a little bit of work. That way you don't have to worry about messing up a new car if it gets wrecked or if something goes wrong. Another plus is you can get some experience just doing upkeep on an older car. One thing you have to remember is that the key to a good car is a good driver. Practice with a stock car and add after-market goodies when you have achieved its full stock potential. Just a few tips from me.
