Default B16A2 or not

ok I got a 99 EX and a guy at a local shop has a 99 B16a for sale for $1000 without tranny. I would have to get mounts and a tranny and maybe the shift linkage i guess. I know that its kind of a deal, but i really had my heart set on getting a B18c because i know that it would be easy to make it N/A fast to my needs but i would expect that it would take a lot more to pull low 14s to high 13s N/A out of a B16a. what do you guys think?

I would wait and get the b18c - besides, that's what you really want. The torque would be much better, especially in you heavy coupe.

I second that, in your coupe, you need some more torque. The weight of a coupe almost nullifies the power of the 1.6. Save, weight, and get a GSR. Best of Luck...

get the b18c because the b16 lacks serious torque. that's what I'm planning to run to offset my heavy *** coupe.

I'd still take the H22 over a GSR swap.

B18C is 180 hp 126 tq.
B16a2 is 170 hp 113 tq.

The price your getting the B16a2 for is 1 grand correct? 3199 plus S+H is HMO's price. is 10 hp and 13 ft lbs of tq. worth 2199 dollars? Save that 2200 and go with a B16a2 Turbo setup and get better results than the B18C

But he still needs a tranny, ecu, axles, linkage, and mounts.
for the b16a2.
Imo only get the b16a if you plan to boost it, it's worthless n/a. trust me on that one.
If you are stayin n/a h22a is the way to go, b18c is a step up but still lacks.

yea i still need a whole lot of other stuff. my mechanic said that im looking to spend about 4 grand installed wit everything. 700 bucks more would give me a B18c so i rather wait. Im hoping that along the way of waiting i will catch a deal on a motor somewhere.
