Default B16 block + resleeving with bigger bore..

only out of curiosity..
from people that had similar experiences with B16 or similar engines,
what are the implications of resleeving and using a bigger bore ??

head modifications necessary ? size of combustion chamber VS bore of cylinders?
gasket ? will there be a problem with finding the right gasket ?

wich type of sleeving ? what company to trust ?

what size of BORE would be good? too much ?

i'm sure that some of you have thought about this a few times already ..

experiences with resleeving ?

pros and cons of this type of engine ?

thanks for your time

To do the resleeving, RS Machine and Golden Eagle have gained good reputations for their work.

For the gaskets, a modifies OEM Honda gasket can usually be used.

84~85 is the average size people resleeve to.

Pros: MORE DISPLACEMENT!!

My bad, I didn't really read the post.

Anyway I hear Darton does a darn well good job on sleeving.

yet another question ..
i never really checked into that possibility..

is it possible to bore the stock B16/B18 cylinders to 84mm without resleeving ?
problems that could be related? ( i guess that the walls could become too thin, but then isn't the B20 from CRV the same block design ?? )maybe the B20 walls are thicker ??

Personally I would rather send my block to be resleeved by some drunken redneck in the swamps of Alabama than send it to Golden Eagle. I don't like the idea of paying to have a block sleeved (with a stepped deck) and having the sleeves drop. Not only did they deny it while it was happening to many of their customers, but they went on to say later that they had found a new way of re-sleeving that guaranteed the sleeves not to drop. This also left all their previous customers up a **** creek without a paddle. But to each his own I guess, I value my engine a little more than that though.
