Some of you may have seen my old topic where I'm replace my bro's block in his teg...cause he threw a rod. Anyway the block were getting needs new rings. Can we use the rings off the old block? I'm assuming that these are the piston rings, if the pistons are fine can we just replace the pistons and the rings from the old block to the new one? Some are saying that the cylinder walls need to be shaped around new pistons but I'm not sure. If someone can please help me clear this up, I dont want to buy new rings if I dont have to. Thx in advance. THis is for a 95 integra ls btw.

 

Buy the new rings. this is a must. You can't reuse old rings. They won't seat properly. And when the car smokes, you're gonna have to tear your motor down again and redo them.
