Just pull down on the boot right around where the chrome ring thing is. That will disconnect the boot from the ****. From there, just screw off the shift ****. If you want to take off the boot, you'll have to take the whole center console off.

it's being held by two clips on your stock ****, just yank it off a little hard. aftermarket ***** don't have the lock so you will see bare metal.

So is it possible to salvage the stock shift boot then and if so how???? Cause that ring is like glued to it or something.

To get the **** off, pull down on the ring, and it'll disconnect from the ****. Then you unscrew the ****. If you take out your center console, you can take out the boot. After you take out the boot, turn it inside out, and you'll see how the ring is connected to the boot... it's just a rubberband wrapped around the boot material to hold it to the ring. Pop that rubberband off and the ring will come right off the boot.

also another suggestion, I bought a momo king metal ****, adaptor ring and endurance shift boot, the boot snaps into the adaptor ring for a stock, clean fitment.(no boot sliding down) You'll pay for it though, the adaptor ring is only 15$ but the the leather boot is more like 50-60$, but the ring screws into the bottom of the ****....I always say you get what you pay for. endurance boot w/adapt ring

yes it's possible. it's not glued just clip locked to the boot. try prying it off with a flathead screwdriver. use a towel to avoid scratching the boot. and if that still don't work you need some serious help.

Yes it will work. You just need a shift boot adapter, available from the dealer. All it is is a little plastic piece that acts as the two clips on the stock ****. Its what I use for my type r **** (no clips) and it looks clean and stock.
