can this be done
can I take an integra type r tranny and replace a grinding third gear with either a gsr gear or a b16 gear I don't know if this is possible but I might consider it just cuz the type r has lsd
How much milage and what year is your car? I know it's a common issue with the Integra trannys. Mine is going into Acura next week. This service is being covered under warranty. Mine is an '01 with 50000 KM on it.

So that grinding sound is not the sound of the transmission gears grinding? I though this was so. The grinding sound is of the synchro?
I think you mean the synchro needs to be replaced but the tranny gears do grind when the synchro was bad. Please correct me if im wrong (wich wouldn't supprise me)

the gears are on the mainshaft and countershafts and they do not move. Not only that, but they are interlocked with their corresponding gear on the other shaft. They do NOT grind. The syncros are what grinds.
