I was wondering if anyone has the same problem. I have stock brakes (soon to be replaced with some NSX calipers and rotors). The problem is my current brakes produce SOOOOOO much brake dust that my wheels are caked by the end of the week...and its a bitch to wash off. Does any one know a good set of pads that don't give off so much material...or is there a trade off? (hence, good breaks pads= a lot of dust; mediocre break pads= little dust)??

Stock brakes bother you?
Try Hawk blues in the rain... My stock wheels are toast and need to be sandblasted and refinished.
I love the stock pads,,, You just wash off the dust. The Hawk pads, I need a chisel to remove the caked on rusted dust.

Exactly!
Exactly!
Wax the wheels. Then, the dust will stick less and wipe off easier.
But, now I don't give a F, 'cuz my cheap, silver millenia wheels are GM color.

stocks are nothing compared to aftermarket brake pads... Just got some axxis ultimates on mine and for a daily driver it gets black 100 times faster... instead of CW it looks like I have flat black rims
, but it's ok I can deal with it, cause I know I am safer cause of them. I love them...

Ditto.. or just remove your brakes all together. IF there are no brakes.. there will be no dust.

Hawk Blues....great for track, horrible for dust.
They're owning my JDM 16's. I just spray them with the hose every day...takes a few minutes, but saves me the 1/2 hour of scrubbing.

WTF you run hawk blues with your JDM ITR wheels? Ahhh they will own your wheels in no time. I suggest something mild like Hawk HP+ for those wheels and purchase Mazda Millenia, Kosei K1, or another set of stockers for Hawk blue use.

I'm not looking for fucktard responses...i'm looking for experiences with other pads that produce same performance as stock with less material.
Thanks for the advice about Hwks tho...will stay away from those

It's hard to believe your wheels are actually White Regamasters.

I decided to stop worrying when I found it had clad itself to the flanks of my car from the front wheel wells to the rear bumper. When I saw this, wheels became a very minor issue.

You said you have "stock brakes"...... are you meaning stock brake pad??
I'm using stock brake pad now and they are very easy to wash off even I haven't wash the car for the whole winter !!!
Is it possible the JDM stock brake pad is different than USDM stock brake pad therefore they are harder to wash off !!??
anyway, the Axxis Ultimate is a very good replacement brake pad. It somewhat better than stock pad (usdm) and not produce too much brake dust (at least they will not eat the wheel).

Have you ever used the Ultimates before? They are insane dusters. After I washed my car my front wheels began changing to a darker color from the dust in only two days. But they sure perform nicely on track though, and still useful for the daily drive.

I think they are in my car right now
well, all the brake pad I've been use...like Hawk HP+, Porterfield R4S, axxis ultimate and stock. I say stock pad produce little dust......Ultimate is next, then R4S and the worst is HP+.
Btw...I don't use ultimate on track, my track pad is Ferodo DS3000 and they are dust maker
Fyi....I have gunmetal wheel. May be the dust is not that standout if compare to CW wheels.

I'm using stock pads and brakes....when the wheels gets lightly dusted its no big deal, but when it gets caked especially in the spokes, its easily 20-30 minutes of scrubbing per wheel EVERY week...and if I leave it, it becomes more tedious.
I'm pretty sure USDM and JDM pads are the same...can't see why they'd be different.
In Japan, there is more road driving (as opposed to freeway driving) so I probably use my brakes more than you do.
