Don't waste your time with Rampage man. It's a lesser quality than most factory audio stuff. If you're looking for a decent, inexpensive HU then you might look into Panasonic or possibly Blaupunkt. The only HUs worth buying IMO are; Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, Panasonic (yep, they're OK now), Eclipse, Nakamichi, Denon, and SOME Clarions.

Jensen, JVC, Aiwa, Sony(for the most part), Rampage and the rest of 'em aren't really at the same level as the one's above.

Yeah, they're aren't too poplular over here so it makes it a little tough to find dealers. Here's a pic of one of their HUs. They all pretty much look like that, similar to Naks they don't bother too much with the aesthetics (all models look very similar), it's what's on the inside that counts.

I'll try to find you some more pics...

Denon makes some of the best equipment around, same quality as McIntosh, Nakamichi, etc. They're aren't all that flashy like Kenwood or Alpine; no multicolor TFT displays, or motorized doo-dads. They build with quality components and have only sound quality in mind.

As far as retailers go, i'm not sure. You may check your local stereo shops. I'll ask around and see where you can get good deals on their stuff online.

try not to go into something knowing it will need 'improvement' by a device like an EQ.

An eq isn't meant as a "crutch" for systems, if you start off the signal bad, expect it to stay bad.

mmmn Alpine I'm saving up for a 9815 right now...love it for the price range and the absolute craziness of the packed features (especially digital crossover vs analog in the 7995 and the extra time correction for the sub)
