I just finished putting my d16a6 in. I tried to start it, And I get a buzzing noise from the main relay area... The ecu led stays on and kind of gets dim. Any help would ROCK!

The car is a 91 civic dx, The engine is an 89 crx si. The buzzing seems to be going with the fuel pump, If I unplug the injector harness it stops. Who knows, It's pissing me off!
Have you tested the wiring to the main relay and the main relay itself? That seems like a good place to start...
I assume the car was running fine before you did the MPFI conversion? Are you sure you did the rewiring correctly?

Yeah, The car ran fine. What happened is, My rod bearings in the ol' d15b2 were going bad... One day I decided I would start it up and let it run for a little to make sure the battery would keep it's juice. It ran for about 3 minutes and I put the #1 rod thru the block. Up until that point it ran and I had no problems (besides the bearings)... I pick up the d16a6, Which I was told sat outside covered for around 6 months. I finally got it in after 9 hours of knuckle busting and sweat (no hoist). I'm wondering if the ECU is the problem, It's pm6. Would a bad ECU make it act like that? I have went over the wiring, I had two weeks to do so before I put the motor in. I don't think it would be the main relay, It worked fine before. My best guess is I should go over the injector harness again to make sure, But I don't see why that would make the main relay buzz. I'm going to check the ECU, But the only person I know with a car I can test it in has an hf, Will a pm6 work in that? I appreciate your help, I'm kind of disappointed that more people didn't reply, I guess if it was a carbon fiber lip or something, This topic would be burning alive. Oh well, I'll go over it and keep you posted. Thanks again.

Ok, I got rid of the buzzing. I forgot to hook up the ground by the starter
. Now I have no spark... I got a new cap and rotor, But I guess it's the coil or igniter. The coil costs 69.99 at autozone. I may as well get the msd external coil cap and a coil for that price. I'm assuming though it is the coil, I cant get a reading on it or another one I have. My car hates me.

did you rewire you car for the D16a6? Which intake manifold did you use?
I'm for one am confused.
If you did a DPFI (Dual point fuel injection) to a MPFI (multi port fuel injection (which the d16a6 is setup for. 4 injectors. You need the injector resistor box, and some other cool jazz to get it to work.

I'm past all that, I got everything, But spark, I'm getting fuel and air, but no spark. To fill you in, I have the 1989 d16a6 at 13x,xxx miles, The intake manifold and exhaust came with it, I bought a pm6 ecu and 1/4 of a dizzy off someone on here, I can't complain about the dizzy for the price I paid for both, Unless the ecu is bunk. I rewired it a long time ago (Added pins to b10 and b12, There was a wire already at b12, But I hear it's unused. I cut c1 and c2 and wired it to the dizzy, I cut a3 and a7 and ran it to the #2 and #4 injector. I'm 100% sure it's not the wiring now) I used a multi meter on my coil, I get a reading of .001 ohms from a and b and no reading from a to the secondary winding. I tried both my old dx coil and the one that came with the dizzy I got with the ecu. My problem is, I don't have $6x.95 to get a new one, So right now, I'm fucked... Hope that helps, This post has kinda shifted from a question to a chronicle. The misadventures of DXI.

Well guys, I got it running!
I put some wires on my igniter wrong
It's running a little rough, But at least it's running. I have a code 14 and 8 to deal with, So after all is said and done I may still need a new dizzy, The bearings in it sound like **** anyway. So tomorrow I will start changing the plugs around to get rid of the code 14, and pulsating idle. Then I'll have to wait to either rebuild my tranny or get a new one. Thanks for your replys guys, I really do appricate it.
