i am going to do an engine swap in my friends CX hatch and he's giving me his old engine (70hp 1.5L). i like sohc but this is a little small for me. could i do the toyota piston, and b16a rod combo? the bore is still 75mm so the pistons will fit. what other options do i have? (remember, i'm getting this engine and tranny for free, blowing it up is a last resort if i cant do anything else with it)

 

just because the bore is the same dosent mean the wrist pin location and other dimensions of the piston are the same

yes you can do the toyota thing...just get that kit some guy sells on here...
i also think u can put the d16z head on

 

well will the bottom end give me as much power as a d16y8 or z6 bottom will with those parts?
