engine builders...
for those of you who have built your own engines, or for those of you who have got yours built by somebody else, did you/the installer prep the pistons? i was reading in my friends engine building book about piston prepping and taking away all the sharp points of the piston(deburring), reason being they sharper peices get extremely hot and may cause detonation. im just curiouse about this theory. ive searched but came up with nothing. this seems like a logical approach to reducing the chances of detonation, but im just not 100% sure. im building my stock GSR block with wiseco 9.7:1 81.5mm pistons, and was wondering if i should leave them alone, or follow the instructions in the engine builders book and go ahead and deburr them. any input is welcome

Re: engine builders... (SSBPGSR)
I took all my sharp edges off, It's just another little thing that helps make sure your engine is strong, just like deburring the edges of piston rings, making perfectly sure they are positioned right. It's stuff that is easy to do just takes time, if you do it yourself you know it will be done, someone else might not care or have no time to do it.
