Default stock d16a6 dynos

well ive been having a friendly arguement with another H-t user about stock and semi stock d16a6 dyno #'s.
now he claims 110 WHP and 98 tq with stock a6 with gutted cat and exhaust. now i dont se this to be very possible being that its stock 108 flywheel hp

anyone want to share?

sorry to burst your bubble, but those numbers are very possible. One guy even dyno'd at 110.7whp/104.9wtq with just a gutted cat and greddy MX exhaust.

Hahahahah. Ok, i think the A6 is pretty much an underated engine. I mean, stock good A6 dyno are like atleast low 100's or high 90's to the wheels.. It really depends what's the condition of the engine. So it's possible to hit that kinda numbers with just little modification. Remember, not every engine are created equal some are strong and some are weak..

I/H/E will make a bigger difference on a 88-91 D16A6 than say a 99-00 B16A2. the new stock intakes are less restrictive.
the new exhaust manifolds are very efficient - almost like a cast header.
the older engines are really choked up compared to anything newer...so any improvement makes a bigger difference.

yea i dont doubt maybe 100 whp with a few mods i know they are good motors. but 110 seems a bit much with just a gutted cat and exhaust

http://www.importreview.com has a pretty well modded a6 only putting 127 with alot more mods

it seems likely to me. onlybecause i dyno'd at 106 horses and 96.9 ft lbs with a VERY smashed header and exhaust. maybe its what we call freak motor

yea just seems like alot of whp for a basic stock motor ya know? thats why i made this post. i had a 96 hatch with stock y7 motor, with y8 I/M, header, tanabe catback and CAI and it didnt put over 100 whp, and they are simillar motors y7 a bit weaker cam and gay I/M but that didnt apply on that car

My friends D16Z6 only made 101whp and 98FT/LBS. of torque in a 95' civic..
My calculated HP from my D15b2 ( DX motor )( with MPFI and A6 head, punched cat, and intake ) and 75 shot of nitrous was only 132HP...

A6 stock make more than Z6 ( stock vs stock )...NO. But after some timing advance and leaning out, H/I/E I can see a D16A6 making 110hp to the wheels.

My friends Z6 run also had power steerng, and was BONE stock.

My other friends MPH calculated HP was like 127hp with a JRSC and a D16A6.

D16a6 is a pretty damn powerful single cam. I dunno about all the 110 whp, but crazy things are believable. just drop it tim lol.

I am really getting sick of this topic. Look at the dyno chart below. The blue is a d16a6 with a short ram intake, dc headers, and thermal exhaust. The green is tyson's d16a6 with a AEM CAI, dc headers, and a gutted cat. Red is sean's run, the run in question. Although his car peaked out at the same whp, the motor made less power than the other two non-stock a6s at every rpms. hp and torque. He only made as much power at very high rpms when the lack of back pressure undoubtably helped. That plus the 4-1 stock manifold design vs the dc 4-2-1 design may have also helped with the topend power. That plus his motor is just strong.

Peak power really doesn't mean ****, it's about the total area under the hp and tq curves. Look at the graphs.

Funny, I also have a friend that tells everyone that his A6 is internally stock..

It has rods, pistions, port and polish with bigger valves and a crowler cam.. 10.5/1 compression. But he cames "stock" too. Not saying anyones lying or anything; just don't believe everything you here.

That B16a6 in "ImportReview" is a typo error. It's suppose to be D16a6 that was worked on my exospeed.... ask Wil -ExospeedAMcrx

Hey I got a question, I have a 90 civic base model. Don't quote me on this but someone said that 1.5 sohc 16valves had something like 90 horse. People have also been telling me that I should do an engine swap. I can't afford to do the swap so I have to do what I can with what I have. What can someone tell about about getting the pressure regulator to increase the gas charge for each injection cycle. Remember that I have a TBI not mpfi.
