coolent problems
i have a 91 si and i'm losing coolent, no leaks, and white smoke only when car is started, not when driving. now i know it's either a head gasket or intake gasket. but if i drive for awhile then shut it off and then start driving it again in like 5 minutes, on the start up it bogs and almost stalls and white smoke pours out the exhaust and then it runs fine no smoke, if i leave it sit for an hour or 2 it starts normal, so my question is does this mean the intake gasket is shot? because the coolent leaks into the combustion chamber??? if it was the head gasket it would smoke all the time??? am i right on this???
any info will help thanks

maybe just a small leak and when motor heats up, it expands a bit and seals itself...just a guess but white smoke usually is caused by blown head gasket or warped head/block.
Step #1... compression test
Step #2... leakdown test
do this and see what kind of numbers and figures you get. A blown headgasket usually smokes all the time, but don't put it past yours. Me, I would do the tests and replace all the gaskets and see what happens.
