How much is a blown H22A1 worth?
See title.
One of my teammates pulled his blown H22A1 out of his car and is thinking about selling it. I need a motor to build up, so this works out well for me. He used forged pistons in an unsleeved block. I'm going to be checking for scoring of the cylinder walls before any purchase is made.

That's what I am thinking. I'm ready to figure out how much nitrous an H22 can handle, but I need to have a back up motor ready to go in first.
Type S pistons + stage 3 cams + 100 shot= **Drool**

Nope, my bank account convinced me otherwise. I'm going to work with Type S pistons, crower rods, and some good tuning. I figure that I'd rather rebuild the motor every couple years with cheap parts until I have a real job and real money to build it right.

I still have 2 years of undergrad, 4 years of Med School, and 5 years of residency before I make any decent cash. I don't need to get into debt yet.
I figure that I can crank 300 whp out of the above set up when I spray. Detonation will be lethal though.

I have no doubt you can get it to make 300, but like you said, one pop and it's gone.....that's a pretty big change to take, also considering that one pop will probably require sleeving afterwards anyways.......
Than again, I'm incredibly bitter towards nitrous
Our boosted teg blew up on a nitrous backfire, and today our camaro blew up on a nitrous backfire. On it's way to becoming the fastest LS1 in New Mexico too
Best was a 12.09, we needed 2 more tenths.....

1. That's why I need a spare block to build up. I don't want to get caught with no motor to drop into my car.
2. Well if it comes to that, then it comes to that. At least by then I'll have built a couple motors and know what I'm doing.
You've definately had a rough time with nitrous lately. Yall aren't getting backfiring on direct port kits are you?
