Default Coolent issue. Plese help!!!!

Ok here it is:
I just swap in my d16z6 into my ef and I drove it around for a few. I noticed that my lower rad. hose is not warm but my top one is. The top one was rock hard. I took the coolent cap off and tons of steam and coolent came pourin out. I am ok.
i thought that it might be the thermostat. So I took one off of my old ZC and put it in. Still no go. The lower rad. hose is still not warm. The gauge shows that I am at running temp. What could it be..
PLEASE HELP!!!!

Umm doesn't one hose feed in hot coolant to the radiator, and the other hose feed out cold coolant (purpose of the radiator is to make the coolant cold) to the engine? Seems like its fine to me.

ya that is the way it works. But why would I have so much pressure in the upper rad. hose? Aslo i think the lower rad. hose is at least going to be a bit warm? Any one to comfirm this.

Well I think since the upper hose is going downward its easy for coolant to flow, but I think the lower has to go uphill so I assume that is harder so it will be less full.

why would the pressure be so diffrent between the upper and lower rad. hoses. I am just worried about blowing a rad. hose or something. I just seems like the lower hose should be warmer. Could it be my water pump. Just not circulation the coolent. and all the hot air and water is waiting to excape at my rad. cap.

When you start your cat let it set, get to normal temp but also let the fan come on at least twice, then check. The bottom one should be slightly warm.

i have my fan wired to a switch because it rarely ever comes on. I let the car sit an idle for like 10-15 and my temp gauge said it was to runing temp, but he lower hose was still room temp. I know there is coolent in it because it when i press on it the coolent level rises. That is way i am wondering may be it is my water pump.

does your car overheat at all running/idle? if not, it sounds like normal operation...
