Car doesnt turn on sometimes.
My girl has a del sol non vtec, and for some reason it doesnt turn on sometimes. I thought that it might be the sparkplugs, so i did a whole maintanance check, switched to some new sparkplugs and everything.
But for some reason it still has the problem, when i turn the key it just gives me a clicking noise, like *click*, then i try again and it goes "click*, then i try again and it turns on. Anyone know or might have an idea on what the problem might be?

matter of fact, this happens to me sometimes.
i have a starter kill. if i have it enabled and try to start it, it just clicks.
once in a while, even if i have the kill switch off, it will just click, and then start up right after.
does she have a starter kill? i'm guessing its either that, or something to do with the fuel pump/wiring.
not 100% sure

Yea it gets the radio, thats why i'm pretty sure it's not the battery, and nah, the car doesnt have a kill switch..

Is it an automatic? I had a Mitsubishi before and it had a faulty shifter sensor or something. Moving the shifter around allowed it to start, though. Try that the next time it won't start.

K, i'll try to check out the main relay tomorrow, just one question, i done it to an accord, but i havent done it to a del sol, is it in the same spot? under the steering wheel?

Also i was thinking.. if it's a faulty main relay, the car wouldnt start at all wouldnt it?? i mean the car does start, just that it takes like 3-6 tries.
dude check the starter first being that its the most sensible and most logical thing right now - main relay, fuel pump are all things that should be eliminated after you check your starter
wouldnt be the starter, the only way a start breaks is if it locks up. Id try fuel system wiring, when u try to start does it ever do any more than just click? like try to turn over?
check all of the grounds esp. the starter. that same thing happened to me and i found out after replacing a $60 battery. it might be that simple

Check your starter? Tell me how you would check a starter?

try the shifter you might also check that the battery terminals are tight. if they are loose it will click then stop and when they touch your car might start i had a problem with that...
