Got a GSR motor, unsure of year, placed my friend's '93 hatchback.l

We were driving last night, and he lost power at highway speed. Engine simply quit.

Pulled over, cursed a bit, checked for obvious problems, noticed that the 15amp ECU Fuse was blown. Replaced it with some non essential fuse, forgot what. Car would not start. Not throwing any codes. We tried to push start it, and it worked.

Drove home, about halfway there, went his RPM's dropped, it happened again. Lost power, pulled over, ECU fuse was blown. Replaced it, push started it, made it home.

Got it home, it idled just fine. Turned it off, tried to restart it, and it started just fine.

Anyone know what's up? Or where to start checking? Could use some help.

wow that stumps the **** out of me i have a JDM GSR too but it runs fine maybe its your wirring harness, wires could be short circuting, maybe thats the problem since you keep blowing a fuse look at all your wires and make sure they are in good condition

 

Try Manually wiring a ground to the ecu. You can just hook a wire up to the case of the ecu.

definatley sounds like a grounding problem, but it must be a wire coming in contact with something metalic b/c if it were not grounded properly it would blow immediately, this sounds like it is fine untill contact is made and then the fuse blows out. hopefully iy is not a more serious electrical problem
