popping sound from speakers and sub!
everytime i change the volume settings to 0-1..back and forth i get a loud popping sound and also when i change around the sound settings, change tracks on a cd, change to tuner then back to cd...it pops and it lasts for like a second....what's the deal?
We can help you, but you need to give a little more info. such as are the speakers running off your deck or an amp(s)? How are the amps wired? How do you have your wires run? Power/ground down one side of the car and the RCA's on other? How old is the equipment? What kind of deck? What kind of electronics? What kind of speakers? How are the speakers hooke up. Do you hear the POP noise through the front/rear/and sub?
Once you give this info and other - then the people of this board might be able to diagnoise what could be wrong.

What is your gain setting on the eclipse amp? Do have it turned up all the way? If so, try backing it down.
DO have another amp you can try? (just to make sure it is not the amp making the noise)
Try disconnecting the sub rca's from the amp and see if the pop noise still present.
Try " " speaker rca's " " " " " " " " "
Are you using the same kind of gauge wire for your power and ground?

i tried the adjusting the gain really low on my amp..and i could still hear a faint pop..i've disconnected the sub rca..but still pop from speakers..disconnected the speaker rca and reconnected sub rca..and still pop from sub...i ve used different rca's and different amps...and still pops..i've put my HU in my brothers car..and it pops in his car...tried HIS hu in my car and it sounds ok...but could it be a bad wire harness?..

Try not using the wire harness. Make a wire right to battery (for both inigition and power and an additional wire for ground - make sure to attach it to bare metal, sand down the paint if necessary). see if you still get the popping noise. also make sure your amp ground wire is in contact with bare metal.
