I decided I'm keeping my B18B motor. I want to go turbo next summer, so, this year, I'm building the bottom end. I want to Hone out the cylinders, replace the pistons, rods, and rings. And, also, I want to do a port and polish while i'm doing this all. How much will all of this cost me about? What's the cost of each procedure? I plan on going with low compression pistons, such as possibly JE pistons. So, if anyone can help, give me a breakdown of the cost of each.

well here's what it cost me
pistons 450-500 w rings
hone-175
rods-350-550
port polish 150 (its a basic port just the exhaust side)
3 angle 175
balance motor-150
putting together motor is around 600
well these are just the prices that i have gotten

 

What's the 3 angle do? I've heard other people talk about it before, but, never understood what it actually does.

 

It promotes a smoother air flow.

 

What about sleeving it? What is this process all about?

 

well you want to go turbo it would be best to sleeve your block
your stock sleeving can only take so much pressure before blowing up
with the new sleeving you can also boost highier too
sleeving i can get for about 900
its the same sleeves ed berganholtz uses
after you get those sleeves you can aalso think about spraying for all that turbo lagg

 

So, exactly how much will I be spending about to rebuild my entire motor, so that it'll be able to withstand about 12lbs. of boost?

 

um yes, hell im not doing jack to my LS engine and putting around 8psi on it. Well see what happens.
