*EXPERTS Urgent help please- R has been acting wack - symptoms listed - problem???
Please help in any way possible:
I wanna fix this, but I don't know what the heck to do first. I was in an accident which may have thrown a few things off, and symptoms have been getting worse and turning up in more numbers as time goes on.
The symptoms:
-at startup, the RPMs sometimes drop very low (lower then ever seen), and climb up again......... AND when i bleep/tap the throddle it feels abnormlly cooshy/hesitant
-car seems to rev faster, yet be much SLOWER (EVEN IN NEUTRAL)
-throttle response is really bad
-clutch engagement point seems to change (vary)
-repetative knocking noise coming from clutch/tranny area in neutral (when press down on the clutch it seems to disappear)
Possible Causitive MODIFICATIONS:
1. Direct Port n20 plummed into the intake manifold (leak?) - have not used the n20, it's just been sitting on there, because i wanted to dyno tune first.
2. MSD: Digital 6 ignition, blaster coil, window switch, spark plug wires (don't know where the hell the shop set my timing the last time I was in there, they just said they tweaked the last shops settings because it was running to rich
3. NGK colder spark plugs (7's i think?) - thought about a possible cause of a loss in power when off the bottle
4. Holly fuel pump
5. Clutchmaster Stage 3 clutch
6. Toda lightweight flywheel
7. HID's - sounds strange, but could they be draining power (bad install?). I noticed the other day that the radio reception was changing as I turned them on and off.. or am i way off?
SO FAR, what I am thinking of doing first is going back to stock timing, and stock plugs and dropping the tranny to inspect the clutch pressure plate. Judging from the symptoms, it seems like I am dealing with two or more main issues. One thing may have caused the other, but I don't know. I'm pretty overhwhelmed. All advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want my motor dying a long slow and painfull death!

Can you explain this? I don't understand how your car is slower in neutral.
If your throttle response seems affected, your car may be bogging. Set timing to stock (16 degrees). Changing the plugs never hurts.
Try bleeding your clutch master to see if that affects clutch pedal feel.
EDIT: Didn't see that you have an aftermarket fuel pump. How many lph is it, what is your fuel pressure set to, and what kind of engine management are you running?

What if one of the new plugs is defective?

Sorry I used a poor choice of words ...
The car seems to rev faster in neutral, yet the car pulls much slower in gearr. Make more sense? However, even in neutral it has that shitty throttle response.
As for the fuel system. I was stupid when I had the stuff put on. I don't know which model Holley he used, i just trusted him.
I don't have a fuel pressure regulator, and the car was never dyno tuned. I was planning to do that when i had more time, so I could get the n20 up and running.. but with the car running like this, havin fun is the last thing on my mind now.

Bleed the clutch slave cylinder to see if that helps the clutch issue, then take the car to be tuned.

I agree with Reid...bleed the clutch slave cylinder.
This sounds like a problem I had with my Probe GT...back in the day...
