Oil Change Question.
I was just surfing the c-speed site... looked over the oil change procedure....
"Now you can go ahead the fill the motor with the new oil. Do not over fill it. B18C1 and B18C5 require 4.25 quarts. B18B - 4 quarts. Put the filler cap back on, lower the car and start it up. Let the engine run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil. Do not rev the motor during this time"
Do not rev the motor during this time??? I have seen a few oil changes done at these quick jiffy lube places.... the first thing they do is start the engine and rev it for a couple of seconds, before checking the oil level....

I had a friend that did that with his GS-R. It spat it back at him.
You don't need to rev the engine. It takes even longer to build up oil pressure after you change the oil compared to a cold start. If you rev it immediately after starting it you're liable to cause some chafing and start a fire. Well...maybe not the fire part.

Cool... next time I am at Mr. Lube I am going to tell them NOT to rev the engine after the oil change.

Better yet... do the oil change yourself.
Those "lube" places generally don't care about your car as you do.
The "revving" is their baseless attempt to speed up the process because they are impatient, and unwilling to fill the filter with oil before putting it on.
Laziness should not be a factor in maintaining your car.

Don't take it as an insult. I'm only speaking general terms here.
So do you plan on taking a car to Mr. Lube or not?
lesson learned:
I'll not assume that when you say, "Next time I'm at Mr. Lube".
...that you actually plan on going to Mr Lube.
