boosting the H22!
i have desided to boost my lude however i feel that my H22A1 with 85000 couldnt take it for long... at least for what i plan on doin. so i am planning to buy a JDM H22a with low miles. i am looking to do a custom setup. with a Garret T3/T4E turbo and other various parts. first however will that turbo be able to easily pump out 15-20 pounds? and as for my internal setup i am planning to 9:1 comp pistons but what brand also what kinds of rods/wrist pin/crank/rings/seals/headcgasket should i use? and what should i do head wise? i have not been able to find any turbo cames for the h22a? also what about valve job wise? will a 3 angle be best?
lastly are the aftermarket pistons for the h22a1 the same as the h22a? money is also not much of a concern sinco i dont have to pay for much. sorry for all the questions just wanted to be sure on the setup. Thanks guys

the stock crank is good to approx 1000 hp. no need to replace it. just don't try to turn 2 many RPM. I'm pulling to 8400. I've read that around 9000 rpm the crank experiences harmonic distortion, and will cause it to twist and eventually break. I do have titanium retainers, clips, ect in the valve train for efficentcy purposes.

Why are you looking for a new motor for? Since you plan on replacing ALL of your internals on the JDM H22 that you want, why not just rebuild the one you have and save yourself the time, hassle, and money your gonna spend on a new motor? Just my thoughts on that...

thomas i kinda agree with the other guy. they money your going to spend on the jdm motor u could easily spend on fully building the motor u have right now. send it off to get built, get it done right for cheap. i can hook up with a guy for that part. he will build it to your specs for a good price. this way u save money and the hassle. plus my techy will let u know your options on the build and what are the best and worst products. let me know and i will give u his aol and his e-mail so u can start the nagotiations now. call me up and remind me.

the bore is stock (84mm if my memory is correct). that way if I break something, the block can be remachined (bored over) without starting over with another block. If you goto the maximum bore on your first build, then you have nowhwere else to go if you scuff a cylinder wall....
the only reason i would want to start over with a new engine is because for some reason mine is running slow. and i dont know why. once i get it re-tuned and get a compression test i hope everything will be alrite, and if it isnt than ill get a new one. but i do see what you mean, i know i would save alot of money if i did it your way. im just afraid i will run into problems with my engine (in its current state)
