emissions for sure are way better then calif. my sisiter lives up there and she tells me there's no dyno if your worried about that. other then that I don't know.

Depends upon where you live.
In the Portland (OR) / Vancouver (WA) area they have emissions testing. I live 24 miles North of the Columbia River, right on the boundary. Luckily, it means no testing for me... (! ..for now)

im from washington and moved down to cali...wish i had it registers in washington now... i dunno bout that other guy but all of washington doesn't have any smog. basically u can driver around on whatever u want they haven't caught on to jdm motors and that kinda stuff besides in big cities liek seattle....no dyno (that cali **** sucks ***) so i dunno thats bout it im headed back up there an hopefully i can get my car re registered up there since i have a jdm swap and not much of a cat left
What part of Washington are you moving to? West of the cascades do emissions but most of the eastern part dont require it. Even the places that do emissions are not that strict, as long as you have a cat on, you should pass.

what boat you on my brother live in bremerton, i live in everett but register my car in stanwood so i dont have to do emisions testing,
but if you are in a area the requies then "YES" they do run dyno's and most of western washingon reqiuers emisions they are ok when it comes to being strick all depends on who you get, some peps dislick cars that have been modifid at all but as long as you have a cat and muffler you should be fine, i have not personaly done emisions in 3yrs so things could have changed.... but i do know that all the station around my area still run the dynos when testing, the are just using the "load" properties of the units though.....

They do put your car on the dyno now. It changed a while back. It is very easy, there is no visual inspection. They test your gas cap to make sure it seals and then they put the sniffer in your tailpipe at idle and at a certain RPM. As long as your motor is tuned up, you'll pass. They dont pop your hood.
P.S. I passed a 1st gen B16 with NO problems.

Smog is pretty easy-basically u just need a cat and ur goot-I passed w/ a 11.0:1 comp b16 in my sol-s/cat-w/o-hell no.....there r cities on the western side that dont require smog though-not sur bou brem but I know maple valley, bellingham and cities like that dont require NE.....my $.02, worth half that.

Anyone ever paid off a smog station attendant in WA? I have to get tested next year and there is absolutely no way I will pass OBD2, visual, smog, etc.. too much work to make it pass, I'd rather pay like $100 under the table if possible

I think the law is that if you fail you only have to spend 150 bucks to try and fix it, and if it doesnt pass after that youre off the hook....my car smoked visually and it passed still, i couldnt believe it....
I have a '99 with a '99 engine but I don't have an OBD2 computer... I think I am screwed unless I make it OBD2. Anyone have issues with the OBD2 check when getting smogged while running an OBD1 ECU or a standalone on their OBD2 cars?

Yep if your emission stuff is hooked up and you have a cat you should have no problem passing
