Im not even a B-series owner but I remember reading that without your speedo cable hooked up, VTEC wont engage. Did you check that your speedo cable is still in the tranny yet?

look down below the in fuel line(to the fuel rail) about 6-8inches and there will be 3 lines coming out of tran 2 get plugged the other will be your speedo input. it will be a thiiner cable w/a boot around it that should be in it

Well first off what motor do you have, that would help so we could know if you are talking about manual or electronic speed sensor. If it's manual it could have popped out or the clip might not be in.

i have a b16 motor, with y1 tranny, non-lsd

-> so if its a clip or its just loose than i can just re-attach on the tranny right?
cuz i know the speedo on my cluster should still be in tact, and my vtec is in reservation mode.

hm.3 wires, i'll check in the morning..manual, cable tranny.

I was in a very similar situation about a month ago while i was doing my swap, do a search for it, someone replied to my post about it with very detailed instructions and pictures

if you got your B16 and havn't changed the speed sensor, you will have to change it to a manual (assuming you are using your stock guages), i forget which car it comes out of, but it is very easy to change, it is literally 1 bolt and you can pull it out, then you plug your speedo cable into the new manual sensor

i have a b16 but s1 tranny. my speedo cable sits down in there so tight you dont even need the little clip-the only way it would come out is if you grabbed it out-my buddy's rex is the same way. just make sure the boot stays over the tran

so if you dont have a electronic VSS running(assuming u are using a JDM cluster) to your ECU....vtec won't engage?
