I want to make my civic Si fast!
I have a civic Si(d16a6) and I want more proformance. I want to run low 15´s high 14´s in the 1/4 mile. Whats the recepie for that? Cams? Header? CAI?
Kind regards
Kind regards
wahts your spending range? have you figured out if you have wanted to go fi or all motor? a good shot of nitrous should do it.
NA- I/H/E, thinner headgasket, cams, vavle springs and retainers (if you want to rev higher safely), cam gears, port and polish and a good tuner..that would be a pretty nice setup.

I have this on my D16A6
I/H/E, Crane Stage 2 Cam, skunk2 adjustable cam gear (3* adv). You can see a vid in my sig if you want.
But if you want those numbers (which those numbers are my quest, too):
Do what's stated above and:
Upgrade you valvetrain
Raise CR
Port and polish head
Hondata or some kind of reflash...
That should put you well into the 15s if not 14s.
Kind regards

well like the one dude said..get a crane cam stage 2 or so...Good clutch...DC or good Name brand header and exhaust (stay away from ebay ****) cam gear can help, stiff *** springs to help with weight transfer. I suggest Skunk 2 adjustables..bigger injectors may help. Also when you a cam get ur head checked by a machine shop and you realy must install good vlave springs or else you will get valve float..also gutt the interior definately it its a hatch Si.. a CRX probably wouldnt need to be gutted as much. You may want to get LSD in your trans so you can hook up and maybe small slicks. The smaller diameter tire will help you accel a lil faster. thats all I can think of. Good luck. I was gonna go this route but i think Ill go b series instead

For $2500, I can get you in the high 13's, low 14's full interior.
like the previous posts said, it all depends on how much you want to spend.

Yep, and still be a b16 running the same b16 times. Run a 13 with an A6 and that's something to brag about if you ask me. And raise CR is raising the compression ratio (CR). This can be done by milling the head or a thinner head gasket or different pistons.

I actualy think you should run a turbo. Its cheap for a junkyard set up. maybe even tear the block apart and lower the compression with some dished pistons and raise the boost but you said you wanted n/a but i thought i should mention the turbo.
I know a few people with 4th gen Civic/CRX that can hit mid to high 14s with just i/h/e, and a Gude head package.
This is with street tires and not very stripped.
I myself had a CRX with over 200,000 miles on the original stock motor with just a cam and hit a 14.82@93. The four other mods my 89 had was an HKS intake, DC Fab header, HKS exhaust, and a test pipe.
Everything else was original from the factory: spark plugs/wires, clutch(this was the 2nd clutch, Honda OEM), intake mani, throttle body, ecu, ignition.
Too bad I totalled my baby last November, but I did save her "heart", and it will be going into Old Yella, who will be debuting at a West coast drag strip by this summer!!! WOO-HOO.
Anyways, the point of my post is that you don't have to spend much to make your d16a6 fast as what you are shooting for.

Is running B16 times necessarily a bad thing? Sure it can be disappointing if you can't run the numbers other people are with the same engine or less mods, but think how much worse you'd feel if you pumped all that money into the A6 only to have a mid-to-high 15 second car. I've seen it happen.

b20
cams of some sort
new valve springs
cai
dc sport or airmass headers (jasmine if your lucky)
2.5 exhaust piping
no cat
es oval muffler
port and polish
forged pistons
make sure suspension is straight
this is my fantasy formula, but im sure this would probly get you in the high 14 or 13's

Get exospeeds head package and a bisi header/intake/exhaust and I think you'd be happy. I wish someone would do this and get some 1/4 mile times so I can stop debating wether or not to do a swap. But I'll probably end up with a b16a because of the future possibilites of it. But everyones different.

Oh I agree! People finishing a swap, coming out and running some poop times... but that's a can't-drive factor, not a has-the-potential factor
Personally I agree with the above response, go with the exospeedAMcrx package, can't go wrong there... that setup would definitely rip.
