Default Cam Specs and Mods

I am going to run 50-75shots of nitrous, but to save me from having to refill all the time, I also want to build up my motor with really aggressive cams, and higher compression when I do rebuild down the road. As for cams, I think I am going to go with webcams, and have a custom grind. I want something very aggressive in the upper rpms. What is the max lift you would reccomend? Also, what mods will really bring out the potential of the cams?

Don't know the reason for this guy blowing his engine but you might want to look at this post. He had Nitrous, Type-S pistons, and stage2 cams.

Anyone have any input? I was thinking of something like .490 lift. My goal is 13's without nitrous, and would like to have about 210whp at 8Krpms. I know I need a 2.5inch exhaust, header, intake. I already have a CAI, going to get an Apexi exhaust and maybe a Kamikazi header and have a 2.5inch dust collector welded on. I also want to get the Skunk2 intake manifold when it comes out later this year.

You might need a good ignition system with the adjusting features if you run a high compression in your Lude. You'd have to adjust timing when you're on the bottle and again for daily driving, unless you prefer a sluggish ride everyday. High compression on a juiced motor isn't exactly good, but like I said, there are ways around things. Some good time at the Dyno should cure all. Hope that helps some.

Edit: To answer the original question...if you're going ***** out, Stage 3 cams are good if you have some serious internal work, but I'd personally go with Stage 2 for my own reasons.

another trick or 2 i've learned from the v-8 world is that big cams help stop detenotion w/high compression. also when u run n2o u want your exuast cam duration to be larger then the intake duration. it doesnt have to be much but never have it less then the intake duration.

to give u an idea of what i'm gonna be doing, i'm running 100-150 shot, w/11.5to1 compression, and skunk2 stage 2 cams. the lift on thoses is .505!

btw-u can run 50-75 shot on stock engine, AND DONT PAY 500 FOR A N2O KIT, I DESIGNED MY OWN AND IT COSTS LESS THEN 300!

you will need more than that for 210whp, i'll tell you that right now.
and why 210whp at 8K RPM???

Web cams sent me the specs today, 498lift intake, and 498lift exhuast. I have heard that people have ran 14.5 in the 1/4 with nothing but i/h/e and a VTEC controller, so I am hoping that having the cams will be enough of a push for me to break into the 13's. The reason I said 210 at 8krpm, is because inorder to get teh most out of the cams, I will hae to tune it out, and with tuning, big power will happen in the higher rpm's. When my warranty is up, and I am ready to do a rebuild, I will use 11.5CR pistons, Eagle forged rods, and port and polish the head. I still got alot to learn, so I think I may take some time and search through post, mainly JGluders post.
