im gonna buy 88 civic hatch dx..
but, i dont know anything about civic.. (really nothing)
i want you guys tell me reasonable price for this one..

this is what the owner says...

88 white hatchback. black interior.
jdm b16, tranny, p30 ecu
driver and passanger axles (brand new)
shift linkage (brand new)
mounts (brand new)
short shift kit (brand new)
nuespeed springs
the car has been repainted inside and out
rear interior has been stripped
has porchee front seats

he just put the motor (from r-sports) in it by himself..
the car needs to be timed and basic tune-up (he said)
and he is asking $2500..
now, what do you guys think? any post will help me figure out..

 

Sounds pretty good, just make sure the engine is not shot and still works and all that. He could of just put it in and something could be wrong with it, thats why he might be selling it. Anyways it sounds pretty good, just make sure the engine is in good condition.

like i said, i am really dumb at automobiles..

 

If you hear a loud knocking sound, or let the engine warm up and see if it over heats. That would be the 2 main things you would look for. If you hear it knocking then thats a rod, if it over heats the head gasket could be shot.

The good ol' decel in first gear smoke test. Decel in first almost till it's stalls and punch it--look for smoke out of the tailpipe yO....

 

how many miles on the car? sounds like good deal. ust do what all the other guys tell you and you should be on your way

 

see why he is selling it, this often can tell u alot, if he can give u a good reason, the car is probally fucked, get a mechanic to look over it, its worth it if you dont know cars, but sound really cheap.
