i have "heard" of a deal like that but i would have to see it to believe it...plus i mean i have seen the head for sale for like 600-700 and then the ecu for like 250....then you can get the flash.....i mean the blocks are relatively similar and i don't want 6-speed(which usually won't come with the motor for that price).

Damn, I remember seeing that thread just a while ago too, I should have read it closely.

Does anyone remember if it was a simple swap? Or did it require some modification?

Man we need some freakin details, youd think this would be a really good bang-for-buck setup, right?

"ok i am not an expert in engines just around a little bit to be able to know a thing or two. however, honda did make a fully counterweighted crank for the type s, as opposed to our balanced crank. why? thats why cranks have to be at least balanced. any little vibrations could result in big damage thats why its really important. very sensitive. when it is fully counterweigted and stuff it is more equipped (in general) to handle a beating. some engines are equipped with crankshaft counterweights in order to reduce torsional vibrations. i guess if it goes to 7900RPM and produced 200HP it probably needs it. ALSO the type s has stronger bigger rods/piston assembly. Its not just one thing its a few and they're all expensive. "so what do you all think about this??? does this mean that setup without modding the block is a bad idea?

That's a good point, and if its true, it would apply to Hondata too.

I can wait a year to find out, before I go with anything radical. In the meantime, theres lots of other ways to add some hp to the stock setup.

My A3 has fuel cut at 7900 according to the charts i have.It dosent even seem like its stressing the motor one bit,so i dont see how 7900 with an a2 head is any different.
