Default 89 crx hf putting in b18c1

I am going to put a b18 into my 89 crx hf I found a good mechanic that has done motor swaps just not like this one . I have the motor with what looks like all wiring and also have tranny and every thing else besides ecu, axcles, brakes, mounts . I know hasport makes shift linkage and mounts I just need to know every little detail about performing this swap so I can get to ordering part, I need to get it put in by may 9 so if you can help I would apreciate it .

Sounds like you have enough of what you need.

For swapping into an 89 crx, you will need to get yourself 90-93 integra axles that will go right in with the crx hubs and match up to the tranny/half shaft. As for the mounts, you will definitely need an aftermarket mount kit such as HCP or HASport.

As for the ECU, you have several choises depending if you want to stay non-OBD (obd0) or convert over to OBD1. You may want to stay OBD0 and purchase 1st gen Distributor & fuel injectors, and run a PR3 or PW0 ECU for the 1st gen B16 which will plug right in.

For wiring, you will need to adapt your HF harness over to to the B18 and add VTEC (vtec solenoid is A8 pinout & oil pressure sensor B5) is and knock sensor (B19 pinout).

Here is some sites to refer to:

Good luck.

I think you should convert to OBD1 so you can use a GSR ecu also you should think about getting a better fuel pump and crossmemeber.

I think you are better off changing to OBD-1 and running your P72 (GSR) Ecu, and making the secondary butterflies work. It makes sense to me to run the GSR OBD-1 like it may have orignally came, and that ECU is already programmed with the correct maps and crossover points. In this case though, you are going to have to add a jumper harness so that you can plug your GSR ECU into the CRX cabin harness. Those can be had pretty cheap on the forum.... Of course, the whole OBD-1/GSR ECU thing is my opinion only... Good Luck whichever way you choose

Here's another. Since you're putting it into an HF model, you need to swap out your knuckles and use DX/Si or any other Integra knuckles in order to use the Integra axles. The HF (and "standard" model EFs) have smaller knuckles which will not allow Integra axles to fit through them. But the good thing is that the HF is setup with MPFI so if you keep it non-OBD, then there's not too much extra wiring to do.

Hi this my first time posting on this forum but i;ve been looking around here for sometime now. Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could point my in the right direction on how to convert my crx to OBD1 since I'm doing the samething but I want the correct stock mapping and such so tuning won't be too indepth after I do everything else to it.

Thanks.

What's the pricing on that? And how does it work exactly? There are MANY MANY 2G Tegs, and 4G Civic guys waiting for this... LOL! Any motor bay pictures of it installed?
