I just bought a 2000 Type R it has AEM CAI and is lowered on ground controls but i want to know what exhaust or header to get, that is going to give me the best performance. Price is not a problem.

Do a search first.

 

If money isn't an issue, then your biggest decision is between Spoon, Mugen, Toda, Jun, or HyTech. It really depends on how much you plan on fixing up the car, and what kind of driving you'll be doing. I'm not an expert, so you might want to look up some past threads for more info.

 

if you JUST bought it, i'd say be more familiar with the car( how it handles, response, and the throw). After, if you want more power, get some more mods.

But also if he has the Ground control bouncers, aren't those gonna mess with his stock handeling characteristics? And if so and he bought it that way maybe he isn't looking for the appreciating the R in it's stock form.

I'd say instead that he should ditch the springs and reinstall the stockers for the "Get Acquainted" period. Then when he has some driving under his belt search for some Tein's or Mugen or a nice H&R setup! If he wants the drop at least match the quality of componants to the R itself, Right!

And especially if he has no money issues then he can have a better handeling car and can start doing the Go Go stuff.

Just out of curiosity what happened to the stock springs? Did they come with the car?

Ya know even with whatever mods I do, I always keep my OEM parts just in case. Maybe I want to go back, Maybe I want to race in a different catagory, Maybe I want to sell it or trade it in "stock" and get some cash for the aftermarket stuff.

As for your R, I would suggest a Pacesetter 2 piece, painted header.
Exhaust? Hmmm... maybe 2.5" crush bent with a meineke resonator welded in somewhere and a Arospeed muffler.

 

GET A JDM 4-1 HEADER...APEX VTEC CONTROLLER...AND SUM CIVIC TYPE R CAMS...CAI...WITH THIS BOLT ONS AND RUNNIN' YOUR OFF THE HEADERS WILL GUARANTEE HIGH 13'S ON THE TRACK...

 

BUT IF YOU WANNA GO FULLY RACEC OUT...I SUGGEST JUN III'S CAMS WITH NEW VALVE SPRINGS/RETAINERS...AND THE BASIC BOLT ONS...GURANTEE 12 SEC...BUT THATS IF THE CAR IS TUNED RIGHT...
