Default Planning out motor build....Do I need retainers/springs?

I'm lookin to build my B18B to handle about 300whp. The plan so far is to build the block with JE SRP pistons/Eagle rods, but no stock sleeves. I got the recommendation from Howard at AR Fab to also upgrade my valvetrain with retainers/springs and SS valves. Reason being: "....the valve train upgrade is necessary due to the boost wanting to open the valves easier...valve float with 18psi will start at 4000rpm...." ....is this true?

With these components and hondata running me around 15psi (t3/t04, 54 trim) I'm hoping for 300whp reliably . Am I accounting for everything I need to do this? Is sleeving not gonna be important for this power level? Also, what size injectors should I run?

I would consider a motor rebuild on any LS to start from the head down. Thats how power on that motor is made. So yes, dont skimp on the valvetrain.

No, it's not enough, b/c there's a bunch of other unanswered questions in there. i.e. sleeving, injectors.

so, even with a well-tuned hondata, you still think sleeving is a good idea for 300whp?
