Default Help!! taking out rotors on 97 accord!!

I need help on taking out the cross drilled slotted rotors on my friend accord but my other friend is saying that it is press mounted to the hub or something. He said that it'll be a PITA to take it off. I'm think that all I have to do is take the 4 bolts off then the rotors should come out right? Thats after takin the brakes off. Do i need a special tool or can I just use a pry bar? I already took 3 bolts off and stripped the last one so now I have to figure out how to get the stripped bolt out. The rotors look like stock size not a big brake kit. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks ,
Roy

the rotors are press fit and are very hard for a novice to change.

They are pressed and they are a pain. Even with the right tools it takes hard work sometimes. I use a large slide hammer to remove.

Dam seems like a pain. Can I just take the whole thing out and take it to pepboys to have them remove it or rent a slide hammer. My friend is giving them to me for free as long as I take it off. Do you think it's worth it?

Rent a slide hammer and hammer away for awhile. After you get the first one off the second will be easy! Repack the wheel bearing with wheel bearing grease after the rotor is removed!

Will not be able to remove the rotor if the whole assembly is off the car, not a good idea.

Would it be easier if we just swap whole rotor assembly?

The guy at our shop will never do that again. With the slidehammer. Let's just say we were both taking our turns getting this bitch off. His turn, he slipped or lost concentration for a second and caught a finger in there, his finger looked like a busted grape. *I* almost passed out it LOOKED so painful. We pass on that job now. It's not worth it. So just be extremely careful with that slidehammer.
