how fast will this be
i wanna get a integra ls and buy either a type r head or gsr head and put it on the ls block. will this be as fast as a gsr or alot slower? also, you guys think it will be worth it?
LSVTEC, IMO, isnt the best thing you could do with your time. With an LS motor...Id just go ahead and turbo it. Ive seen very few LSVTECS that didnt have problems down the road.
However, a successful LSVTEC will hang with a GSR quite well. Probably faster.

Just get the LS and turbo it, or just buy a GSR. There is no point in buying the cheaper of the two, spending aton on it just so that it will hang with a GSR, where as an LS would beat alot of cars.

Any time you seriously alter a car you will have problems one way or another. They may not be big, but problems none the less. Im not sure of the specifics, but Im sure you may have some electronic issues. Not to mention the hassle of getting it all done in the first place. Just stick with a GSR or LS-T.

my buddy had a LS/VTEC in a eg, and best time was a 14.8 and had 3 different drivers driving it. only once did it hit 14.8 donsistan low 15's. His LS swap alone had ran a 14.6 best e.t. He sold it his car to some guy and now driving a s2000
. If i was you just go LS with some sort of force induction.

LS/VTEC is a can of worms no matter how you go about it. Turbo is a can of worms, but a lot of $$$ can fix it. My choice would be a JRSC with quite a bit of cooling. It makes more usable power (ie good torque @ almost all rpms), isn't half-assed, and there aren't very many worms in that can.
buy a b20, and mate it with a b16 head. without turbo, if you do everything right, you'll be passing gsr's, at least from the start. turbo it and you'll be passing much more.
