Default junkyard h23 into my ek?

Hey,

I found a junkyard h23 92-95 prelude that looks like it has been rolled, I can get the whole deal including tranny, ecu, ect for 100.00
So I have a few questions...
1) Seems like a good deal to me but what do you guys think this motor/tranny is worth if they run ok?
2) what sort of work am I looking at to swap this into my 97 ek hatch? Is it basiclly the same swap as a h22?
3) I don't know much about lude motors, is it even worth building a h23? what sort of power should I expect from it?

Thanks for your time

That's one hell of a deal if the engine is in good condition. The ECU by themselves go for around $90-$100.

I t is a really good motor. I have a 92 Lude Si with that engine and the car pulls MUCH HARDER than what I was expecting. And it has 157K miles. I ran a high 15 second quarter mile without doinf ANY mods to it. I had JUST BOUGHT the car too. LOL

same swap as h22.. that is a good price. I'd buy it and put on a h22 head and h tranny then build it up for n/a, you know sleeve the block either 11:5 or 12:1 pistons and some skunk cams, yaya yada yada...damn $100 bucks I need a deal like that.....

That's a smokin deal!
Yes, it will be identical to doing an H22 swap. Everything will be the same (axles, motor mounts, etc).....you'll like the torque, I'd swap it in and put a small shot on it.....

Thanks for your help guys!

I'm going to go pull me a motor. Oh, and in regards to where it is, I live up in washington and the junkyard that has it has no Idea what they've got. These are the type of guys who listen to kid rock and build cameros in their spare time.

You might have a deal, except you are far away
I'm looking to get around 800 for complete swap or probably around a 100 dollar finders fee + I'll go down there and put the 100 down to hold it for you.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT THIS H23 IN WASHINGTON

It won't last!

P.s. I was misquoted on the price by an underling there. He actually wants 250 for the motor/tranny or 400 for the whole car

Also If I buy the car I'll be parting out headlights, tailights, interior, and other misc stuff. Email if you need anything.

Hey wait a minute how did you know what i did

i bought my swap for 300 with everything i need it off a junk yard. i ripped the thing apart and changed the bearings, micropolished the crank, borred the block .25mm over, got some jdm type-S pistons, and my block just got back from the shop. i got an h22 head on ebay and gave it a port and polish myself, i'm good at it. got a copper head gasket. all i have to do is put it together. no time to do it now

the h23 wll be easy as hell. for the wiring just run your Dx harness and extand some sensors. the mounts you'd have to buy. very easy swap.

h23 will not pull as hard as h22............ trust me big difference. but the h23 is a great platform. you can boost it or go N/A with some spray. you decide.

buy it and do what i did. rebuilt the internals. my swap so far cost me about $1000. $1500 installed. and when i have some time to put it in the car, i'll show you guys some pix
