i have a 99 ls tegra i/h/ 2 1/4 inch piping....stock muffler......if i add an aftermarket muffler such as greddy or sumthing like that will it open up the exhaust more or will it be the same as my stock integra muffler.....would it be worth the money ??? i dont care about the noise i just want to know if im casing any back pressure or anything??? thanks

 

an aftermarket exhuast will give you better flow, but u would still have a bottleneck at the stock cat.

 

I would definitely get the exhaust since you already have the header. I think the gains from the header have not even been realized since the stock exhaust is pretty restrictive. I got the exhaust before my header. Did you feel a gain from the header alone? Good luck and a big part of the upgrade is the weight savings over stock. Sometimes as much as 25 lbs. Nice little bonus.

 

Get the axle back...it will make more power for ya.

 

Get a hi-flo cat or a straight pipe.. best exhaust upgrade for the dollar! You might want to go with a mandrel bent cat-back exhaust.. if your being cost efficient then you should upgrade the muffler.. dont expect to get much (if any) performance from the muffler. good luck!

 

if you are planning to boost as you said in your other post you might want to look into the full 2.5-2.75 inch cat back exhaust. my choice go for the hks hiper very nice with a good sound and will look good aswell!
