Help... Car died on the freeway. B16 in 1st gen crx
Driving to work the other day the engine just cut out and died. While I was coasting to a stop the engine would come back to life a couple of times. I wasn't even driving it hard at the time and I didn't hear any bad sounds. Well I get out and pop the hood and the first thing I notice was the vacuum line was hanging disconnected from the manifold. This makes me think it might be the vortech FPR is broken and just dumping too much fuel. Well I hooked it back up and tried starting and adjusting the fpr and got nothing. It started a couple of times for a few seconds. THis is an just a stock B16 with some boltons. Anyway the plugs look very black and I could see sparking on cly 1 & 2 plugs but haven't taken the cap and rotor off. The swap has been runnin great for the last year so I'm puzzled. What are some other things I could check? Any ideas what may be the problem? I was thinking maybe the screw came loose on the cap causing weird sparking. I just can't figure it out.
Car starts now. The screw that holds the rotor on fell out and was just sitting in the cap. Jees I'm glad that's all it was.
Thanks
