What kind of oil, viscousity, and weight are you using?

Default What kind of oil, viscousity, and weight are you using?

Just like the title says, what are you guys using for the turbo? I know honda engines used 5w-30 oil, but what do you recommend for the turbo? Conventional or Syn oil?

Ive used Penzoil for the past 3 years, non-synthetic.
10w-30.
Works fine for me...it's ceap at Wallmart also. $1.09.

i run royal purple 10w-30. Im probably wasting my money but it makes me feel good to say it costs 50$ to change my oil.

So majority are using 10W30. Is it because turbo doesn't like thinner oil?

I use 5w30 Mobil 1 during the winter and 10w30 of the same during the summer.

i read in this one magazine *import tuner i think* they dynoed a car with 10 w40 and lost Hp. switched back to 5w 30 and gained hp. why is this???

Castrol GTX 10W-40 and a bottle of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer every other oil change.

You are correct. The oil is thinner. I am boosted and only use 5w30.
