If you are talking about street tires don't even mention Toyo Proxes. In terms of a performance tire they are not in the same league as Azenis or SO-3's.

Onlinetires.com has the Toyo T1's for like 59 bux for 195/50/15 .

I think if you dont ever plan on AutoXing your car or competing in it. If you want a damn good all around street tire. The Toyo T1 is a good tire. Especially for that online speical of 59 bux.

I have these on my car 195/55/15 and I wish I would have spent the extra money and bought the original Potenza RE010s. The Toyo's sidewalls are just too soft and there is a definate handling difference over the original tires. The car's grip limit is definately less and the car gets a little squirrely here and there if you push it. On the up side, the Toyo's grip in the rain totally kicks ***. The Azenis' are cheaper, and if you're running anything larger than a 6" width, they'll be way better than the Toyos.

Azenis

Cheap, reliabe, sticky, stiff sidewalls

I would recommend using them on a wider wheel though

I used toyo's before and I am not a big fan, but they do last forever though.

Edit: I am now using azenis now and I love them, can be a lil scary though driving on the highways when it rains.. going into puddles and stuff.

The Toyo T1-S is a great rain tire. Otherwise... its soft sidewalls make the R feel about as precise as a motorhome. I have a set of 16" Toyos 225/40-16 for sale, barely used, if you want them. I'll give you a great deal on them...

Im switching from the Toyo T1-s's that came on my ITR when I got it to Azenis this week (Finally, I can get some good tires put on). Hopefully thats a good indication of how i feel about the toyos. As everyone else said. THe sidewalls are too soft

Azenis crush the T1-S. I have T1-S as daily drive tire and they offer decent grip, decent ride, decent quietness, decent treadlife, outstanding wet grip. However they are not even in the same league as the Azenis in dry grip, and the aforementioned soft sidewalls cause a pretty significant amount (far to much IMHO) of steering response coming from RE010.

while we're at this tire topic, i have azenis on right now, and it was s-03 before that. i found that the response of azenis is not as quick as the s-03, maybe because i've reduced the air pressure a bit after finding out that with slightly higher psi, they are way too bumpy for everyday driving. i thought that i wouldnt be able to tell the difference coz the car is already a rough ride, but it was pretty significance. I have no other complaints. I have yet to try it at autocross. will do tomorrow.
sorry it didnt help you with the question just one point of view.

Falken Azenis as long as you rotate on a regular basis you'll be fine. They are really soft and wear fast.

The Azenis appear to be the better choice. I was a spectator at the EXPO, and it seemed like everyone was running the Azenis..
Not to highjack the thread, but what are your thoughts on the Yokohama AVS ES100 in 195-50-15 or 205-50-15 for a daily driver? Prices seems decent..

I don't know why anybody would want to compare the Falken Azenis to the Toyo T1-S. For tracking, get a track tire, Toyo RA-1 or Yokohama A032R.

The T1-S is loaded with great technology for the street. It's a silica compound tire and a great alternative to higher budget tires like the Bridgestone S0-3 or Michelin Pilot sport. I've had three sets so far in 15" and 16" for dragging and auto-x. Great tire for all around weather as well.

The Falken Azenis are heavy, noisy, and wear FAST. They are horrible for dragging and rain. The only advantage is lateral grip.

I had a set before, and I would recommend them maybe for track use, but like I said before, if tracking, get a REAL track tire.

Those are Two POOR examples Of Track tires!

They work fine in the Rain, I live in Florida and Have had no Problems Yet, And the Noise is not bad either, Pretty much they Own Most tires Even up to twice there price!
