Default So how bad did she hurt my car ...

Recently for the first time and last .In my entire life i let one of my friends drive it. We start it up blah blah . It hasnt been running more than 30 secs and she trys to give it all it has in 2nd gear and it studders about 5 she lets off righ then but good lord. I thought she had blew it up it felt so bad : ( .Pretty much felt like it leaned all the way out with no fuel. So lesson learned no one will drive my car as it was before. Seems to run ok now just curious on what the damages could have been done. Thanks

To the meager extent that I can understand your post, your car blew up at 5,000 rpm and WOT? And you're blaming the driver?

Do you mean she bounced it off the rev limiter.

No worries, that's why you have one. Just don't sit on it for extended periods of time.

The poster apologizes for the retarded post, This is what he meant to type:

I let this girl drive my car ealier this morning. The car had been started maybe 30 to 45 seconds. We leave my house she goes through first gear then deciedes to try and rasie total hell in 2nd with out me knowing she was going to do it. So she gets to around 4500 rpms the car bogs and feels like its leaned out. So she lets off right away the car runs fine now just scared me and wondering what couldve been hurt

Ah, thats better. Would the engine being too cold to engage VTEC be a possible factor here?

Tell jibber jabber an engine will bog down if you go into higher RPM's, esp. into VTEC. It takes at least 10 minutes warm up time!!! Not 5 Seconds.

A) Let the car warm up more. As one person (who I can't recall) once said "you don't get right out of bed in the morning and start sprinting, do you?"

B) Don't let girls who have no idea what they are doing drive your car (or guys, for that matter)

C) See A and B

10 minutes??
I was told by an Acura mechanic that the car should be fully warmed up after 2~3 minutes of driving. If it takes significantly longer, something is wrong with the car.

Could just be a coincidence if you got some bad gas, i.e. it may have a had a little water in it. Where did you get gas? Cheaper stations aren't always the way to go. I got bad gas quite a few times in my old LS from a cheap station.

car prolly wasn;t warmed up enough yet my car will do that if its coold revlimiter is at 7.2 instead of 8.2 if its not warm enough on your car sense its the b18b which redlines in the 7k area prolly wasn't warm enough and it hit the cold revlimiter. no worries just wait till the car warms up next time and youll be fine.

Since she is a girl she probably doesn't know what she is doing. She might have given it full throttle and backed off the throttle right at 5k. That could feel like it leaned out.
