i just have a quick ques

is hitting the rev limiter bad i have a gsr and i hit it by accident last night i was wondering if it was bad to hit it

but i thought ya know its there for a reason
just wanted to know or get some opinons

it is only bad to hit it in reverse!

anyways, no - hte rev limiter is htere for a reason, and if this is the first time you have hit it - your driving style seems fairly conservative.

so hitting it in every gear all day - AKA driving like you stole it - is not good.

If you drive hard enough to hit the limiter a lot - you're going to have trouble.

Every once in a great while won't hurt it.

 

don't hit and keep hitting it

don't use it as a shifting point either

my buddies car locked up from hitting it too damn much.

 

limiter is a fuel cut.

if it removes fuel at a time when the engine is at full cylinder pressures,
you will INCREASE the cylinder pressures each time you hit it, it pulls
fuel from the mixture running MEGA LEAN not good.
