busted stud
broke a stud changing tires/brakes last week so now i'm running on 4 of 5 lugs.
Is this a DIY job, or would it be best left to the service dept to replace the stud?

what would be the proper tools?
just hammer the busted one out and hammer a new one in? or would it be better to use a press to get them in/out?

You don't have to take the knuckle off to get the new stud in.
Just use an air hammer and get the old stud out. Take the rotor off. Take the new stud, go to a bench grinder and shave off a flat spot on the back of the new stud. Now hammer it in from the rear (sounds bad). Put the rotor back on. Good to go.
