there are two wires used for power, one's switched and one's constant.. On my alpine one of the power wires has a fuse on it which one do I wire that to? I did this on my Accord and I have no idea which one I used. Thanks

 

They both get connected to the car's power wire. Well, that is if I understood you correctly.

 

i think yellow goes to the constant + (should be the fused one), and the red goes to ignition on\off

To test if its right try to turn your stereo on while the ignition is totally in the off position, if it turns on then its wrong and switch the wires around. If it doesn't turn on then turn your ignition into position II and it should turn on if its right.

 

Is your OEM wiring harness still intact? If it is, I would just go and buy a wiring harness. They sell them at Circuit City, Best Buy, etc, for about $10-15.

But yeah, the yellow wire with the fuse on it, goes to constant power, and the red is switched.
