is it auto or stickshift? hard to tell from your post. go with turbo, adds a lot of torque.

I've heard the B-series motors with auto transmissions are hard to fit in a CRX engine bay. The ZC would be your best bet, since you can use alot of your stock engine parts on the new motor. If I'm not mistaken (and someone correct me if I am), but your auto tranny from the D-series motor will bolt right up to the ZC motor.

I also have an auto CRX, and I'm thinking of doing the ZC swap once my stock motor dies

So you have an auto and want to keep it an auto then right?? If thast the case your best bet would be the ZC it bolts right up to the auto tranny the only thing that you would have to do is wire it up for MPFI and also get an ECU probably out of an auto integra or a 90-91 Civic EX auto.

I am very PRO-ZC...although I have a b16...the zc is great!! all the guys around here have them and 2 of them are boosted right now and fast as hell. They handle the booost well too. good luck with your project

If you have a automatic cr-x which I think is what your saying then youi can use any d-series and keep it automatic....You can use your tranny with the DOHC zc also which would be a nice motor to use and you can boost them for a pretty decent price if you wanna go junk yard style or you can go Z6 and go all motor sohc vtec or boost that too............If you want to go b-series I think you will have a pretty hard time finding the parts you will need but good luck either way

Auto B-series trannies are freakin huge, I'm told they won't fit. Not to mention the auto B16 is weak. B18's are the same, I think. But if I were to saty auto (which I wouldn't) I would put in a dohc ZC. Wonder if your tranny will hold up!

since you're auto im assuming you have a dx crx. In that case if you dont want to engine swap just yet you can do a MPFI swap. If you want to know more about it search MPFI.

actually the motor is gone .. i picked it (91 dx auto crx) up about 2 years ago for $300 from a tow truck place because it was abandoned on the side of the hiway w/ broken timing belt and soup internals. it has been sitting since then due to lack of time to touch it. so i'm just looking to put something in it for a little fun as a back up DD until i want to sell it. the body is amazingly perfect for a 91 but the interior was in horrible shape .. so it is sitting in a landfill somewhere i was thinking of doing an auto-manual conversion originally but i'm not the most mechanically inclined person so i quickly dismissed that option.
