Tranny problem?

Tranny problem?
I posted in the other models section...but I don't feel like I'll get a response.
I was driving my mom's crv around and I noticed the gear indicator "D" would fluctuate from dim to bright. The owner's manual says if the light in any gear flashes, there's a prob with the tranny and to take it to a dealership. I don't know if in my case it is "flashing" but what do you guys think? Just take it to a dealership to be sure?

Freakin bring her car down from the bay area and already going to the dealership. 
Should have brought my own car back.
