Default How safe do you feel parking the S2k outside?

I'm trying to decide on a new car..and basically scratched the ITR off the list..

Do you guys worry when you park your S2k's outside in a questionable neighborhood?

I worry anytime I can't see the car. Plenty of people get their soft tops slashed, seats stolen, etc. Theft rate is not as high as the ITRs, but I wouldn't park my car out on the street every night, especially in a questionable neighborhood.

You should be OK if you use common sense. If people are grilling your car, don't leave it there.

It really depend on the neighborhood you're parking at... I say it should be fine most of the time.

Not near as much as I worry about parking my Civic outside. I have full coverage on the S2k anyway, so if it does get stolen, I'll make it. The only thing I worry about is parking it next to an SUV.

theft rate is incredibly low for the s2000.

check the stats.

i would worry about vandalism, but not outright theft. don't park anywhere near where kids and their hondas hang out and you should be fine.

Yup. Theft rate for Civic/Integra is cruising around 5%, while S2000 is around 0.5%. I'm 80% sure I'm going to get one in the next couple months!!

I'd rather have an S2000 with some scratches than a perfect boring car.

yea cause there is less s2k on the road (like 6,000 or 8,000 per year) and there are like million civics and integras. But either way get a s2k

He has a point; less s2000s compared to tons of civics and integras makes a difference when you're looking at stats...

This is why I quoted %s of cars stolen. I also think that a larger % of S2000s are garaged...oh well.

Mine is outside, but my neighborhood is gated and I can see it from all my front windows. Never had any problems with theives or vandals, not even at any malls.
