Default D series block question...

I have a simple question on blocks. I just need a block, my block has a stripped bolt hole in it, z6, and i was wondering if I get any d series block(except 88-89 integra), will everything from teh z6 bolt right in? I am planning on doing a complete rebuild, all z6(ZC pistons), z6 oil pump, if i have to, a6 water pump, but you get what im saying. Will it work right? Like everything bolt right in? Or do I need a Z6 block to do this too?

You can use a D15B2 bottom end and slap on the Z6 head but that'll yield high compression.

Well i just need a bare block. I dont need any internals. Im gonna use all z6 internals except zc pistons.. Z6 head. My main question was are the blocks all the same, height wise, bore, etc.

wouldn't it be easier just to get the stripped hole helicoiled or welded and rethreaded. Assuming this was the source of your problem. Just an idea. unless you are going to get the used block for free.

Well it was tried to be done, and the hole was drilled all the way THROUGH the block, so now water leaks out. Is there a way a machine shop could fix that, cause if they can redo the aluminum there then i would do that.
