Which cams would you get and why?
Ok, I searched and got the link to the great header test, thanks .RJ.
My search about the cams came up short. Now I know there are a ton of all motor guys on this board. Just let me know what cams you are running and what you think of them.

Well my Type-R ran great without cams but thats cause i cheated and went zex, but my bud with a 01 type-r went all motor, and loved his toda spec b's. He said great midrange power and together with the jdm 4-1 header and like an intake he got like 20 horses or sumfin to the ground..not too bad...IF i was going for cams...toda would be too $$ for me id say go with the skunk's the proof on the dynos ive seen is almost the same as the todas, and they are a ton cheaper. Hope this helped man..
dont bother with CTR cams
Both the Toda B's and Skunk2 IIs need valvetrain for the most gains.
I'd look into a snail if you need more power

I appreciate the replies. I was all set to buy a set of Toda Spec B's when I heard CTR's were more aggresive and cost alot less. My plans are to have an all motor mid 13 second daily driven car with only I/H/E/ Hi flow cat/ Cams/ Cam gears/ VAFC/ clutch/ and some dyno time.
I have an 88 Hatch that will assume drag racing duties. If anything, that'll get a snail.

who the hell told you that? CTR cams are only marginally more aggressive that 00-01 ITR cams.....

I know this isnt listed as an option, but my vote is for JUNs.
You can go with just the JUN2 intake cam ITR exhaust cam, like Mike K did and found out it works really well.
Or if you want just a little more, go with the JUN3s. Yea they need compression, but with a good i/h/e (good does not mean jdm 4-1 header) it will put you to upwards 195-200whp maybe even more on a stock block, then if money allows you can get some compression

Uh, not exactly, unless you have a different definition of aggressive than I........

JUN 3, yep juns cause if they do break, the costomer service is worth the extra cost of these cams. When I cam my car up, its gonna be with Jun 3's.

But now with the domestic shop being closed, think the customer service will be affected?

For the amount of money that you pay and how it doesnt required much upgrades the CTR's are great cams
now if you run Toda's you must upgrade valvetrain , ecu and injectors to get there best potential .Also lots of tuning to get every single hp that you can out of them .
Personally im running Toda Spec D , which i will be running 440cc , hondata . Just waiting to get Ericks racing header to complete everything to tune .
One huge thing about the Toda Spec D is that they have a stock idle
and that is a huge + for me . besides the nice top end that they have
. so Jun are not the only ones with stock idle
(and i know that also Jun cams are great )
As soon as my car is tune i will post pics of dyno sheet

I bought the skunk2 stage II's mostly because of the price i got em for and i had also heard that they were about the same cut as the JUN III's. i like em so far, nice idle, good power. anyone know if they are the same cut or not?
very close, but not the same spec. but they produce similar #'s

CTR cams ARE 00-01 ITR cams. That's my understanding anyway.

If your gonna get Cams get TODA. I've had mine for almost a year now and I'm glad I went with them. You feel the power all the way through, there is not really a down side that I have seen yet. All they need is some good tuning. And if your gonna do your Cams you might as well upgrade the Valve Train.
