What offset is everyone running with the 15 X 7 Kosei K1s? I did a search for this, but did not find any difinitive answers. Tire Rack is recommending a 38 offset and ITRCA is recomending a 45. I just got a set of 45 offset and they look close to the fenderwalls. I would think a lower offset would make the wheel stick out further (closer to the fender). Am I right or do I have this backwards?

Thanks for your input everyone.
Andrew, I couldn't tell to well from your pictures, but is this the setup you're racing with? If so, even with being lowered and all the stresses of racing you still have no rubbing? If so, I'm conviced.
Anyone have pics with this setup and stock suspension? Especially in the back. I just got them (45 offset) on my car and they look pretty close to the fenders. But maybe the suspension won't travel that far. I had to run with the Koseis on the rear on stockers up front for a day, and they look like they track so much wider than the stock wheels. I could hit reflectors etc. with just the rears. Any pics (especially close up) would be appreciated.
I am also surprised how nice they look (even in silver) once they're on the car. I was thinking about getting them powdercoated, but it was almost as much as the wheels.

You want the +45 offset. I run them on my R with 205/50/15 tires, with no rubbing.

I put 225/50/15 on my 15x7 +45mm and they just barely clear the fender lip (I am lowered on coilovers). However, they do slightly rub the top of the inner fender when I hit a big bump.
Hopefully, the new 225/45 will take care of this, but if you are not running huge slicks +45 is ideal. You will need a lot of camber, as suggested, to get away with the +38.

Yeah, of course you can run more negative and get away with it, but if you're trying to stuff 225's on, you better have at least -2.5 degrees of camber and the 38mm offset (or 45 with spacers).
edit: oh yeah, with 38mm, you still need a decent amount of camber even if you want to run 205.

Todd,
Realize this may not be an easy question to answer but, if you weren't lowered, do you think the 225s would rub anywhere?

No, I seriously doubt it. At stock height everything should be just fine. Stock height and +38--you will probably run into trouble with 225/50s on the outside fender lip.
I've run 225s on a couple different sets of rims at stock height and lowered. With 38 offset rims I rubbed like a female dog on the outside lip in the rear. When I lowered it it became worse (but not as bad as you would think since the springs were much stiffer). When I switched to 45 offset K1s I stopped rubbing on the lip (but I had already rolled it when I was using the 38s, does that matter)? But now I rub a little bit on the trailing arm. No biggie I think.
Definitely go with the 45s.

B18C5,
What other rims have you run 225s on without rubbing? Were they all 15s, or did you run some 16s without rubbing too?
Is this rubbing with 225s on the 45 offset K1s? If so, when does the rubbing occur (cornering heavy braking, etc)? If its making any marks on the tire, I don't think it could be good.
